Home for the Holidays

We flew through bluebonnets, a crazy heat wave, and back to school…but now it’s time to slow down and savor the season. And what better place to be home for the holidays than central Texas?

Milder temperatures mean getting out and about is truly delightful. You’ll find parks and open spaces around Austin filled with walkers, runners, and bicyclists. Bring a Frisbee or football and a picnic and your family will likely find the perfect weather anywhere in town. For more Thanksgiving events, check here.

Looking for adult-only events? Check out the Feast on Beats 2 or the Friendsgiving Trivia Pub Crawl events the week before Thanksgiving.

If you’re tired of the standard Thanksgiving fare, check out these non-traditional options. But whether you’re a native Texan or a transplant, if you want to stick with tried and true Southern-style recipes, you can’t miss with these! And if you overindulge on Thanksgiving, there are plenty of turkey trot events around the city to run off those extra pounds.

Once Thanksgiving is over, though, the party in Austin is only getting started. You can find events of every type all over the city. Not to miss are the lights—and you can find those everywhere from Zilker Park to Mozart’s to Lakeway. And speaking of Lakeway, who doesn’t love a smaller town feel light display like their Lights on!  Ceremony & Trail of Lights? For a unique light show, visit the acclaimed Field of Light at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, running through December 22.

So much to do and so little time! Our city is truly the best place to call home for the holidays.

And it’s not just Austinites who appreciate our city. The Urban Land Institute (ULI)’s annual Emerging Trends in Real Estate report, released October 27, places Austin in the “Magnet market” category. It further distinguishes our city as a “Supernova,” an accolade given to cities with “above-average levels of economic diversity and white-collar employment” (CultureMap Austin, November 4, 2022). Despite interest rate fluctuations and other market challenges, Austin remains one of the hottest markets in the country.

If you’re interested in finding your home in Austin—for the holidays or just great living—give us a call. Intelligent Real Estate always appreciates your support and we’re delighted to work with you. Let us help you find the perfect home for the holidays and forever!
